Introducing Concept Album: Consciousness

And by "introducing," I mean tip-toeing into a belly flop.

Every year that passes by without releasing my Consciousness concept album, it gets harder and harder to put out there. The stakes feel so high because the album is all tangled up with my life philosophy. Sprinkle in a little artistic self-doubt and you’ve got full-on paralysis.

My solution is to slowly release it into the wild through the listening room environment of my “Live From the Earthdome” YouTube channel. Each week, I’ll present a new track and offer it as a springboard for discussion. If you want to hear the whole album in context, there’s a link at the bottom.

Consciousness is a concept album that musically and poetically interprets the stages of development found in developmental philosophy (a.k.a. integral philosophy), using the Spiral Dynamics colors. Each track features a simple blob animation and text overlay to illustrate how I perceive these stages of development manifesting in my life and the world.
